The Solution:I've seen work printed on wood in the past and liked how it looked, so I did a bit of research and found a technique for transferring toner from a printed page onto wood. Results are visible at left.
This printing method looks was more deliberate and tidy than just printing onto paper and taping to the wall. The wood placard looks more permanent than just paper. It takes a little longer to do but I think that's the point. How to Print on WoodI made an instructional video but the steps are really simple
1. Print your material in reverse on a toner printer (no inkjet) 2. Lay the printed page face down on prepared piece of wood 3. Wipe the back of the page with acetone so that the paper is soaked through but not runny 4. Remove the paper and the toner will have transferred to the wood. |
