This semester we will create topographic maps of locations on planet Earth both of their current form and our best guess as to what they will look like in 10,000 years

How does land change? What makes an environment change?
How do we prepare for change?

Final Digital Portfolio Post

Checkpoint is March 4th, only Work Log 6 and DP post 7 are due at that time.

Remember, the best way to improve DP scores or ensure high scores is to complete them early and review them with me.

Week 7
Our time this week will be used to cut out templates for your maps and critique them. Many of us will begin cutting out the maps in plywood this week as well.

Digital Portfolio Prompt 7
-Describe your process for this step (templates and cutting).
-Describe a time from this step where you designed something,
-Describe a time from this step where you revised something.
-Include photos.
-Choose 1 Deeper Learning Competency from the list and reflect on it’s role in your work this past week

Week 6
This week, make the templates for both your 2023 and 12023 maps.

Digital Portfolio Prompt 5:
-Show the location that you ultimately chose for your final project (screenshots, etc)

Week 3 and 4:
Over the next 2 weeks, we will use woodburners to add detail to our maps and build frames to display them.

Digital Portfolio Prompt:
In reference to your work this week, show an example of planning, an example of revising, and an example of finishing your work. Include photos. Choose 1 Deeper Learning Competency from the list and reflect on it’s role in your work now and in the future.

- show an example of revising
- show an example of finishing your work
- Include photos.
- Choose 1 Deeper Learning Competency from the list reflect on it’s role in your work now and in the future.

Here is an example of a high level of reflection. This post is an end of the year summary, but the reflection is strong.
I also will share some of my own work as an example of higher level reflection. This is the equivalent of 3-4 DP posts and I see ways that it could improve, but overall this represents quality reflection.

Due Friday Jan 27th: Work log 1, 2, 3 and the Digital Portfolio prompts from each.

Honors: If you are interesting in trying Honors, join the class and start a unit by January 18
